Third meeting of MOVE in Rhodes (Greece)

The third meeting of the MOVE project took place from the 3rd - 6th of June 2012 in the wonderful island in Rhodes (Greece). Coordinted by the local partner of the project (KEAN), around 30 participants had the opportunity to take part in the different activities that were prepared for both; coordinators and trainees.

During the first day of the project, participants had the chance of visiting the historical city center of Rhodes and get to know the local culture and the situation of the Greek society taking into account the current crisis at European level. Furthermore, in order to prepare the schedule of the next day and main activities, the coordinators of the project met to agree how to carry out them and how to involve the participants in the best way.

During the second day, trainees and coordinators attended several workshops and speeches with the cooperation of local authorities and main local organisations dealing with mobility and inclusion projects. The day was divided in four main parts (with different breaks between them):

1st Part
-  Wellcoming speech by the representatives of the municipality of Rhodes.
-  Presentation of the local partner: KEAN (by Milionis Stavros, President of KEAN)
-  Presentation of the MOVE project (by David Castillo, Project Coordinator of MOVE)
-  Workshop: The legal Framework for equality in workplace (by Elias Zoidis, Lawyer)

2nd Part 

-  Workshop: Theoretical framework for less opportunities groups in European projects (by Marilena Karadima, KEAN Project Coordinator)
-  Workshop: Panel of European NGOs: presentation of the partner organisations of MOVE and their best practices dealing with the mobility of less opportunity groups (KEAN (GR), Gantalcalá (ES), FACASEC (RO), Continuos Action (EE) and Bildungsmarkt E.V. (DE))

3rd Part
-  Presentation: Inclusion of older people in European mobility projects (by Marilena Karadima, KEAN Project Coordinator). Video screening "What is that?" (Video available in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NzwbFQUsQ0&feature=related)
- Workshop: Panel of local organisations presented by their main representatives (Rhodes House of Europe, KEKs Vocational Training Center, KAPI Center Support for Elderly people, DETAP Association for the Development and Progress of the Dodecanese)

4th Part
-  Discussion: Innovative tools for the improvement of mobility among less opportunities groups to be developed during the implementation of the MOVE projects
-   Discussion: Further steps to be done before the next meeting of the project

The partners also agreed the final dates of the next meeting of the project that will take place in Berlin (Germany) from the 17th - 20th of September 2012.
